Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop
The Joan Ganz Cooney Center is an independent research and innovation lab named for the visionary founder of Sesame Street. We focus on improving the impact of new technologies on children's learning and wellbeing by conducting original research and collaborating with a broad representation of the children's media field to put research into action.
Host Job Responsibilities
I lead our organization by determining priorities, developing partnerships and projects, and raising money. Additionally, I help connect colleagues at our parent organization Sesame Workshop with new frontiers in digital media.
About the Externship
I will share about my experiences at Delbarton, college, and graduate school, and how they guided me toward a career in education, innovation and technology. I will use my various jobs over the years -- in nonprofit, government, and higher education roles -- to illustrate different types of work in the education field and broad changes in the field.
I'm happy to pick whatever format will be most engaging for this group. I'd enjoy interviewing the students to make the session more participatory than presentation-focused.
