Bethlehem Township is a rural community in northern Hunterdon County with 3900 residents and covering 28 square miles. It is a diverse community in relation to socio economics and housing with large family farms still present with modern developments interspersed. State Route 78 bisects the Township and it falls within the Highlands Region which necessitates significant coordination with State and Federal entities.
Host Job Responsibilities
Managing all aspects of local government from finance, personnel, constituent relations, emergency management, union contracts and relationships with outside and other government agencies.
About the Externship
Students will learn what educational paths will best serve them if interested in government operations or politics (including campaigns). Students will learn about the needed relationships and skills to successfully navigate within the political world to become an elected official or work for/with elected officials. Students will get an inside look at government and politics from my 10 years as an elected official, and serving in leadership roles throughout multiple statewide municipal and political advocacy groups.
